FUNDRAISING & VOLUNEER INFORMATION

FUNDRAISING REQUIRMENTS

All Junior and Senior Club members are required to participate annually in club fundraising. The annual requirement is $200 per skater. 

 

If you are unable to meet the fundraising goal in whole or in part, a cash/check payment will be required for the remaining balance by March 31, 2019. Although not encouraged, you may exercise a buy-out option, and pay the full $200 at any time, but no later than March 31, 2019. 

 

Concerns or appeals for exceptions can be made at any time, but no later than March 15, 2019. We encourage you to address any conflicts in writing as they arise.

 

2018-19 VFSC FUNDRAISERS 

PRINCESS PARTY FUNDRAISER 

  • The princess party is back for its second year, and VFSC hopes to increase registrations. For each new skater (not current or former LTS skater)you refer, you will receive a $20 credit toward your fundraising goal of $200. The event will be held on 9/29/18, and registrations are due on 9/20/18. The skater MUST include your name in the referral line on the registration form in order for you to get credit.

 

 YANKEE CANDLE FUNDRAISER 

  • Yankee candle packets will be delivered September 23, 2018, and will be due back by October 14, 2018. Plan ahead for Thanksgiving and Christmas and get a few gifts checked off your list by supporting your skater. Forty percent of your sales total will be credited to your fundraising goal of $200. There will be online purchasing available as was done last year. Delivery of items will be November 18, 2018. Online ordering allows for direct shipping to the customer and items may be received sooner.

 

 HEGGIE’S PIZZA FUNDRAISER 

  • Sales for this fundraiser will start on January 27, 2019. Orders will be collected February 17, 2019. Pizzas will be delivered during show week, Thursday, March 7, 2019. For every pizza you sell, $3.00 will be credited to your fundraising goal of $200.

 

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

The Vacationland Figure Skating Club cannot operate without the support of VOLUNTEERS. The fulfillment period for these requirements is May, 1, 2018 - April 30, 2019. VFSC has multiple events and activities each season to fulfill the requirement. Volunteer time can be fulfilled by any family member (age appropriate), willing to assist you. The requirement will be per family, not per skater.

 

We will be requesting a $300 volunteer check from each Junior and Senior Club family. Checks will be shredded once the volunteer commitment has been fulfilled. The commitment must be completed in full in order to avoid payment. Notification will be given and checks will be cashed on April 30, 2019 if the commitment is not fulfilled.

 

You will be required to track your volunteer hours and submit these to the club. We will be giving you an update on how to submit volunteer hours. 

 

JUNIOR & SENIOR CLUB

  • Each family is required to volunteer for a minimum of 12 hours. Participation on a committee for the competition or show meets your hourly requirement. We suggest the following breakdown for volunteer requirements. 
    • VFSC Central MN Basic Skills Series Competition: 6 hours • February 16-17, 2019. 
    • VFSC Annual Ice Show: 6 hours • March 8-9, 2019 . 

We need your participation at the following events, and strongly recommend that you assist in our fundraising activities including the following:

  •  Grocery bagging • June 30, 2018 and July 3, 2018 o
  • Princess Party • September 29, 2018. 
  • Other opportunities may arise throughout the season. In the past we have done events at Roundhouse Brewery, the Fall Bazaar, Car Washes, etc.

***Reality Roasters Coffee will count towards your individual fundraising goal at $2 per pound sold.
